Quick text summary

SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance scored 85/100 on Steam Analyzer — Excellent for a Action capsule. Top priority fix: [title_readability] Consider removing or repositioning the 'Art of Vengeance' subtitle to avoid small size clutter, or increase its font size if brand guidelines require it

Capsule scores by dimension

  • Genre Clarity: 9/10 — Action ninja combat immediately clear. Multiple silhouettes in combat poses with swords, kunai, and explosive energy effects instantly communicate fast-paced action. The orange and red color palette, ninja silhouettes, and dynamic lightning effects clearly signal action gameplay at full size and remain recognizable at TINY size. Genre intent is unambiguous—this is combat-focused action.
  • Title Readability: 9/10 — Bold centered logo highly legible. The SHINOBI logo is large, centered, bold yellow-orange with clean black outline that maintains strong contrast against the dark background. At TINY size, the logo remains readable due to its substantial size and high-contrast outline. The subtitle 'Art of Vengeance' appears readable at full size but becomes illegible at TINY, which is acceptable since the main title carries the recognition.
  • Contrast & Color: 9/10 — Strong warm-cool separation throughout. Warm orange-red character silhouettes and effects contrast powerfully against the cool dark background and blue lightning highlights. High value separation between bright fire/lightning effects and dark figures creates clear silhouettes that read cleanly even at TINY size. Grayscale test confirms strong mid-to-light contrast that doesn't collapse.
  • Uniqueness & Polish: 8/10 — Hand-drawn style distinctive and premium. The hand-drawn art style is cohesive and matches the Streets of Rage 4 pedigree mentioned in the description, giving it a recognizable premium craft feel. Dynamic poses, flowing energy effects, and layered character silhouettes convey high production value. While action game compositions are familiar, the distinct art direction and multiple character focus elevates this above generic action templates.
  • Brand Consistency: 8/10 — Consistent hand-drawn ninja aesthetic. The warm orange-red palette, hand-drawn ninja character silhouettes, and signature explosive energy effects create a cohesive identity aligned with the SHINOBI franchise revival. Character poses and combat staging are consistent with action platformer expectations. The visual language feels distinctive to this specific project rather than generic, supporting brand recognition.
  • Composition: 8/10 — Layered depth with clear focal hierarchy. The composition uses foreground ninja figures, midground explosion/energy effects, and background silhouettes to create clear depth layering. The SHINOBI logo anchors the center as the primary focal point with supporting character silhouettes drawing eyes outward symmetrically. At SMALL and TINY sizes, the central logo remains dominant while the surrounding action elements provide visual interest without competing.

What works

  • Excellent contrast and color separation. Warm orange-red figures and cool blue lightning create powerful visual separation that reads immediately at any size against the dark Steam background.
  • Clear genre communication via silhouettes. Multiple combat poses with swords and ninja poses instantly signal fast action gameplay without ambiguity.
  • Distinctive hand-drawn art direction. The cohesive art style creates premium feel and differentiates from generic action game templates.
  • Strong centered logo hierarchy. The bold, large SHINOBI wordmark with outline remains legible at TINY size and anchors clear focal hierarchy.

What hurts the capsule

  • Subtitle becomes illegible at TINY size. The 'Art of Vengeance' tagline is too small to read at thumbnail sizes, though main logo compensates.
  • Dense background silhouettes create slight visual noise. The numerous peripheral ninja figures, while adding energy, compete slightly with the main focal point at small sizes.

Priority fixes

  1. [title_readability] Consider removing or repositioning the 'Art of Vengeance' subtitle to avoid small size clutter, or increase its font size if brand guidelines require it
  2. [composition] Reduce secondary character silhouette density in background to further isolate the central logo and primary action figures as the unambiguous focal point

Store copy priority fixes

  1. [hook_strength] Restructure the detailed description to move 'Play as the legendary Shinobi Joe Musashi' and the vengeance premise higher, and relocate Digital Deluxe Edition info to the bottom or a separate section to prioritize core gameplay immediately.
  2. [uniqueness] Add a sentence explaining what makes the combat or progression system distinct—e.g., 'Master the fusion of combo-based swordplay with tool-based puzzle solving' or a specific mechanic that sets it apart from other metroidvanias.
  3. [feature_communication] Expand the 'JOURNEY' section to clarify whether this is a linear stage-by-stage game or a metroidvania-style world with backtracking and progression-gating, as this fundamentally changes player expectations.
